What do we learn from "Shocher Tov Yevakesh Ratzon"?

Rashi: One who wants to guide people in the good path, and rebukes and chastises them, he wants that Hashem will be pleased and appeased with them.

R. Yonah: One who prays for his friend, he seeks that Hashem be pleased with him. If one prays for his friend, and he himself needs the same matter, he is answered first - "va'Shem Shav Es Shevus Iyov b'Hispalelo Be'ad Re'ehu" (Iyov 42:10) (Bava Kama 92a 1 ), "u'Sefilasi Al Cheiki Sashuv" (Tehilim 35:13). A leader or esteemed person is punished if he does not request mercy for the Tzibur and generation. "Va'Yashav Bah Ad Mos ha'Kohen ha'Gadol" (Bamidbar 35:25) - he should have requested mercy for his generation [that there will be no accidental murders]. "Chalilah Li me'Chato la'Shem me'Chadal Lehispalel Ba'adchem" (Shmuel I, 12:23).

Why does it say regarding good "Shocher Tov Yevakesh Ratzon", and regarding evil, "v'Doresh Ra"?

Malbim: Man's nature leans to evil more than to good. The evil images are planted in man's Nefesh from youth. Physical powers make a bigger impression on the senses and desires. Tov require Shocher - excessive request every morning at dawn. He must first request Ratzon that his powers desire Tov. Ratzon for good is not automatically planted in the Nefesh. One must request them, and dig in the depths of the Nefesh until he takes out Ratzon hidden in it. Yevakesh teaches that one must request like one who is pursued, with Tefilah for Hashem's help - 'one who comes to purify himself, [Shamayim] helps him' (Yuma 38b). He needs Ratzon from Hashem. Evil does not require such great request. Derishah suffices, and it comes by itself - 'one who comes to contaminate himself, [Shamayim] opens for him' (ibid.), for physicality and desires are prepared for evil.

Why will "v'Doresh Ra Sevo'enu"?

R. Yonah: Not only does he not seek the Shalom and good of his brother - he seeks his evil! Therefore, evil will come to him. Most of this Sefer discusses the extreme of good and the opposite extreme.
