What do we learn from "Chizku vi'Ydeihem"?

Ibn Ezra: They strengthened the poor Jews, with cattle and flock 1 .

Malbim: Everywhere else, Chizuk Yadayim refers to the recipient. Here, the Jews did not slacken - there was no need to make them zealous. Rather, they strengthened them with gifts, to be stronger. Therefore, it says Chizku vi'Ydeihem, with the prefix Beis 2 .

Ibn Ezra: Perhaps this is from Megadim 1 .

Ibn Ezra (Bereishis 24:53): Migdanos is from "Megadim" (Shir ha'Shirim 4:13, and the Nun is extra). Or, they are esteemed garments, and the Nun is from the root. (Surely, the text of Ibn Ezra should say Megadim, and not Migdanim. - PF)
