Rashi implies that Shlomo received 666 Kikar only that year; there is no source that every year he received from Malkas Sheva and Ofir. (PF) Malbim says that he received it every year.

Why does it say how much gold he received?

Malbim: It teaches that Hashem's promise was fulfilled, regarding Chachmah, honor and wealth.
