Why will thorns come on their Mizbechos?
Rashi: Those who served on them were exiled. No one turns to them.

Malbim: The Mizbechos.
What is the significance of telling the mountains "cover us"?
Rashi: Our enemies should not see us in our shame.
Radak: Amidst great affliction that will come, they will request that the mountains and hills fall on them and cover them, so they will be buried under them, and not suffer the afflictions.
Malbim: The Mizbechos were on the mountains and hills. Amidst great desolation, the mountains and hills will fall and cover the Mizbechos. They will be buried under mounds of earth.
