Why does the Torah write "u'Sekatem Teru'ah" but Teru'ah Yiske'u"?

1.

Moshav Zekenim (on Pasuk 5): R. Yehudah and the Chachamim (Erchin 10a) argue over this. (R. Yehudah learns that Teki'ah and Teru'ah are considered like one note, and it is therefore forbidden to interrupt between them. Whereas the Chachamim learn from here that each Teru'ah is preceded and followed by a Teki'ah, 1 and one may pause between them. -PF)
