What is the meaning of "v'Ulam Atem Tofelei Shaker"?
Rashi: You join words of Sheker.
Malbim: I speak to Hashem, "v'Ulam Atem Tofelei Shaker" (4). I.e. the purpose of my debate is to Hashem, to justify His conduct, for He is Shakai. It is proper that there is no injustice in His conduct. If you will say that conduct of individuals is from Him, this contradicts the laws of Mishpat and Tzedek proper for Him. You want to justify His conduct via Sheker, and not via Emes.
What are "Rof'ei Elil"?
Rashi: Every [other] Elil in Tanach is an expression of El (idolatry). Chachamim (Chulin 121a) explained that here it is the sinew of the neck called Alal; there is no cure for it.
Malbim: I want to prove that I am right based on His Elokus. He must know all future events - if not, His knowledge would change! You tried to heal, by saying that there is choice, and Hashem's knowledge increases via multitudes of details 1 . This is not a cure - it is self-contradictory, and Elil (something that does not exist).
I.e. after he sees what people chose. Really, Tzufar said that He knows everything from the beginning, just we cannot understand how in spite of this, we have choice! (PF)
