Why does it say that the war passed Beis Aven?
1.
Targum Yonasan: Those who make war, they reached Beis Aven. Radak - Past there, they chased the Pelishtim.
2.
Malbim: When they reached Beis Aven, the war passed, i.e. ceased. The fleers scattered, and were fleeing, and not fighting.
