QUESTIONS ON RASHI

4)

Rashi writes: "When the sun warmed, it melted - [I.e.,] what was left [ungathered] in the field melted... gazelles and deer would drink from it. Gentiles would trap [these animals], taste of the Manna, and know the greatness of Yisrael." What is the impetus for Rashi to cite this interpretation?

1.

Gur Aryeh: Why did Hashem provide a surplus of Manna in the fields? We see that the amount Bnei Yisrael brought home was miraculously precise, such that there was nothing extra! It must be that the surplus Manna also had a specific purpose - as Chazal interpret here.
