Why does it say "va'Tiktan Zeh b'Einecha..."?
'Rashi', Radak: Giving kingship to me is small compared to Your promise of permanent kingship for my house!
Why did he say "leme'Rachok"?
'Rashi', Radak: You promised permanent kingship to my seed (verse 14).
Radak, Malbim (both in Shmuel II, 7:19): I was distant, and You drew me close.
Radak (Shmuel II, 7:19, citing Targum Yonasan): For the world to come.
What is the meaning of "u'R'isani k'Sor ha'Adam ha'Ma'aleh"?
'Rashi': You equated me and seated me among the rows of the great ones of the nation. You said "v'Asisi Lecha Shem k'Shem ha'Gedolim" (verse 8). Tor is a row, like 'Reish Tor Yerek' (Kil'ayim 3:3).
Radak: You showed me at a great level, like the Techunah (character) of a great man. Tor is an expression of Techunah, like "Toras ha'Adam" (Shmuel II, 7:19) This is like "Navu 'Chayayich ba'Torim" (Shir ha'Shirim 1:10), which are pearls arranged and connected in order and Techunah.
Vilna Gaon: Just like You showed all generations to Adam ha'Rishon 1 .
Malbim: You view me as an esteemed person, a Klali and Sugyi (of a class), not an individual.
Perhaps he means that, so You 'showed' me (promised permanent kingship to my seed). (PF)
