What is the meaning of "ha'Lo Anochi ha'Pelishti"?

Rashi (from the addition to the Targum): I am not a leader over 100 or 1000. I am like one of the others, even though I fought many wars for them. I killed Chofni and Pinchas, and captured the Aron, and you became servants of Sha'ul. He never saved you with his Gevurah!

Malbim: (There was a custom to settle feuds between nations via a fight between one representative of each nation; refer to 17:9:1:1 and the note there.) I am the Pelishtim's representative!

Why did he say "you are slaves of Sha'ul"?
1.
Malbim: This was Pelishtim's claim against Yisrael. You were serving us, and appointed your own king, so you will be his slaves!
2.
Malbim (9): We stand to lose more than you do. Now, we are free - if you defeat me, we are your slaves. You are slaves in any case - if I win, you will be our slaves, and not Sha'ul's slaves!
