Rashi writes: "'And we will know them' (v'Neide'ah) - i.e. with male relations." But perhaps the word means punishment, or inflicting torture (as in Shoftim 8:16)?

Gur Aryeh: If that was their demand, why did Lot respond by offering his daughters? Their demand must have been for immorality.
