Why does it mention boats of Tarshish?
Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: 'All who dwell on islands.' They come and go on boats. Tarshish is the name of a sea.
Radak (14, 16): This refers to people who are haughty about their wealth. Usually, this comes through commerce via the sea. Tarshish is a harbor.
Malbim: They are haughty about wealth. They bring gold from Ofir on the Tarshish sea (Melachim I, 9:28).
What are "Sechiyos ha'Chemdah"?
Rashi: They are palaces with marble floors. This is like "Even Maskis" (Vayikra 26:1), because it is used to be Sochech (cover) the ground.
Radak: They are big, beautiful illustrated dwellings. Sechiyos are pictures, like "Ish b'Chadrei Maskiso" (Yechezkel 8:12).
Radak citing Targum Yonasan: Beautiful buildings.
Malbim: They are treasured matters; they are haughty about them. It is a lower level of wealth than boats of Tarshish.
