Why does it say "Kumu u'Lechu Ki Lo Zos ha'Menuchah"?

1.

Rashi: Go, be exiled from the land ? I did not give it to you in this way for Menuchah!

2.

Radak, Malbim: Go to Galus. You will not rest in your land like you thought. I called your land "ha'Menuchah" and "ha'Nachalah" (Devarim 12:9). Now in your sins, it is not Nachalah and Menuchah for you ? leave it!

3.

Radak (8, citing his father): All of you, leave My Nachalah ? this is not Menuchah!

What is the meaning of "Ba'avur Tam'ah Techabel"?

1.

Rashi: A company of Resha'im is made in order to be Metamei [ha'Menuchah, i.e. the land]. Techabel is an expression of groups, like "Chevel Nevi'im" (Shmuel I, 10:5), "Chevlei Resha'im" (Tehilim 119:61). Also Targum Yonasan is like this.

2.

Radak: This Menuchah and Nachalah became Tamei ? "va'Titma ha'Aretz va'Efkod Avonah Aleha va'Taki ha'Aretz Es Yosheveha" (Vayikra 18:25). Because you were Metamei it, your land Techabel ? it will vomit you out from it. Techabel is destruction, like "v'Chibel Es Ma'ase Yadecha" (Koheles 5:5).

3.

Malbim: This explains "Neshei Ami Tegarshun mi'Beis Ta'anugeha" (9). You are Mechabel (take for security) a wife from her husband's house in order to be Metamei her through Zenus.

3)

What do we learn from "v'Chevel Nimratz"?

1.

Rashi: When they are joined, they already counseled and specified why they joined 1 . Nimratz is something explained well ? "Mah Nimretzu Imrei Yosher", "Mah Yamritzecha" (Iyov 6:25, 16:3), "Kelalah Nimretzes" (Melachim I, 2:8).

2.

Radak: Chevel is a noun ? destruction. Nimratz is very strong, like "Kelalah Nimretzes."

3.

Malbim: You explicitly take his wife for a security on condition to be Metamei her with Zenus. All this answers their telling the Nevi'im not to give rebuke and prophecies for evil. They proved that Hashem will not do evil and punish ? is Ru'ach Hashem too short to bear them (7)?! Therefore, the Navi showed them that Hashem cannot let them persist in their evil. This opposes etiquette, for they corrupted their way greatly. He is forced to expel them from the land, for this is not Menuchah.

1

To do evil. (PF)
