What is the meaning of "v'Esmul Ami l'Oyev Yekomem"?
Rashi: This is connected to the previous verse. I am good; I benefit. The reason why I raised an enemy against My nation? (refer to 2:8:2:1)
Radak: The enemy that comes against you today, this is proper, for yesterday My nation was an enemy to their weak brothers and Aniyim, and plundered them. It is proper that the enemy come against them, Midah k'Neged Midah. 1
Malbim: If My words benefit one who goes in a straight path, why will the enemy come against My nation?
Radak: "V'Esmul" has a Shuruk in place of a Cholem. The same applies to "Ki Aruch mi'Esmul Tafteh" (Yeshayah 30:33). Yekomem is Po'el Omed (the action applies only to the subject; it will rise). Akomem is Po'el Yotzei (I will stand up others).
What do we learn from "mi'Mul Salmah Eder Tafshitun"?
Rashi: It is because you steal the garment and glorified clothing, and strip all who pass by you.
Radak: You stand opposite a good garment ? you see an Oni wear it, and stand opposite him to harm him and remove it. "Mi'Mul" is opposite, like "v'Hu Yoshev mi'Muli" (Bamidbar 22:5). Eder is like Hadar (beautiful).
Radak citing his father: They used to take a garment from an Oni's house for security for the tax. They say, it is not enough, and they strip him of his cloak. The Aniyim thought to go safely; they come to their houses naked, like those who return from war.
Malbim: You fall upon passersby, fight them and take their garments, the way that victors plunder the vanquished in war.
Why does it say "me'Overim Betach Shuvei Milchamah"?
Rashi: They thought to pass safely ? they were reversed to be like those who return from war, lacking clothes and food, for the enemy took what is on them. "Shuvei" is like "Surei ha'Gafen Nochriyah" (Yirmeyah 2:21), "Nugei mi'Mo'ed" (Tzefanyah 3:18).
