What do we learn from "[v'Hiv'arti ve'Ashan] Richbah"?

Rashi: The many chariots in it. The Hei is extra, to show many, like "Sir Asher Chel'asah Vah" (Yechezkel 24:6) - great froth.

Radak: I will make a great fire, that its smoke is seen from afar.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: I will burn in fire your chariots - you were haughty about your many chariots and cavalry.

Malbim: This refers to the queen. She was burned with her chariot - "v'Hutzav Gulesah Ho'alasah" (8). She choked in the fire's smoke (13).

What is the significance of "u'Chfirayich [Tochal Charev]"?

Radak: They are a Mashal for the soldiers.

Malbim: Also his remaining children [who were not burned], the enemy's sword will consume them. Those who hunt lions, they make a fire 1 in the lion's den, and the young lions leave their holes, and the hunters kill them with a sword.

What is the significance of "v'Lo Yishama Od Kol Mal'acheche"?

Rashi: Will not be heard the voice of your messengers, like Ravshake and his colleagues, the Sheluchim of Ashur - "va'Yikra b'Kol Gadol Yehudis" (Yeshayah 36:13).

Radak: Your messengers used to shout at lands to scare and confound them, like Ravshake did to Yerushalayim. He also spoke against Hashem, and said that He cannot save Yerushalayim from Melech Ashur. The Tzeirei under the latter Chaf is in place of a Kamatz; we find a Hei (after what should be a final Chaf), e.g. "Asher Tzivisi Osachah" (Shemos 29:35). Even though Mal'acheche is masculine, and the verse is in the feminine, feminine applies to the city, and masculine to the king (Sancheriv). The grammarian R. Yonah says that the Tzeirei is in place of a Chirik. It is like Mal'achechi, which is like Ne'uraichi, Tachalu'aichi 1 .
