What is the meaning of "Shav Hashem"?

1.

Radak citing the grammarian R. Yonah: This is Po'el Yotzei (it acts on others), like "v'Shav Hashem Elokecha Es Shevusecha" (Devarim 30:3). When Sancheriv will die, Hashem will return Ge'on Yakov like it was.

2.

Radak citing R. Yehudah: This is resting and serenity.

3.

Malbim: Also the 10 tribes, who were in Galus under his hand, he permitted them to return to their land.

2)

What is "ki'G'on Yisrael"?

1.

Rashi: Like [the grandeur of Yisrael] was previously. Radak - this is Ge'on Yakov, for Yisrael is Yakov. This was in the days of Chizkiyah. Ge'on Yakov is Yerushalayim and Eretz Yehudah - "Es Ge'on Yakov Asher Ahev Selah" (Tehilim 47:5) refers to Yerushalayim - "Ohev Hashem Es Sha'arei Tziyon mi'Kol Mishkenos Yakov" (ibid. 87:2).

2.

Malbim: The Ge'on of Yehudah, which was not under his hand. (Ge'on Yakov is the 10 tribes.)

3)

What is the meaning of "Vekakum [Bokekim]"?

1.

Rashi: They plundered and emptied them. An expression of Bekikah applies to vines.

2.

Radak: They emptied them of all good. Vekakum is Po'el Yotzei; "Gefen Bokek" (Hoshe'a 10:1) is Po'el Omed (the action applies only to the subject).

3.

Malbim: Until now, they were like a vine emptied of its fruits.

4)

What do we learn from "u'Zmoreihem Shichesu"?

1.

Radak: They destroyed their saplings and vine branches every year when they came to their land - "va'Yashchisu Es Yevul ha'Aretz" (Shoftim 6:4).

2.

Targum Yonasan: They destroyed their praiseworthy cities. Radak - he explains Zemoreihem like "mi'Zimras ha'Aretz" (Bereishis 43:11).

3.

Malbim: Aside from plundering their wealth, they exiled them from their land, to the point that they could not bear a branch and make fruits. If this was long before Sancheriv, we must say that Ashur already sent troops against the 10 tribes much earlier, even though it is not recorded in Tanach.
