Malbim: Bnei ha'Kotz were Kohanim. They are mentioned in Divrei ha'Yamim I, 24:19. Now, a Safek was aroused in some of them, because Kotz married a daughter of Barzilai (his daughters were esteemed in the days of David and Shlomo) and fathered Chavayah.

How many wives did all Bnei Barzilai take?

1.

Rashi: Each of them took one wife. Ibn Ezra - also "va'Yikaver b'Arei ha'Gil'ad" means one of the cities of Gil'ad.

What do we learn from "va'Yikarei Al Shmam"?

1.

Rashi: They were called Bnei Barzilai because they married his daughters (Ibn Ezra - they married girls descended from him).

2.

Malbim: Chavayah was called on the name of his parents Kotz and Bas Barzilai. His seed was called Bnei ha'Kotz and Bnei Barzilai.
