What is the meaning of "Bnei Salma Beis Lechem u'Netofasi"?

1.

'Rashi': Bnei Salma dwelled in Beis Lechem ha'Netofasi.

2.

Radak: This is like I explained "Salma Avi Beis Lechem" (51 ? they descended from him). There was another family from his sons called Netofasi.

3.

Malbim: Netofasi is a city in Yehudah (Shmuel II, 23:28).

What do we learn from "Atros Beis Yo'av va'Chatzi ha'Manachati ha'Tzar'i"?

1.

'Rashi': Also from residents of Netofas and Atros Beis Yo'av, half Medinas ha'Manachati, people of Tzar'ah seized them and dwelled there. Netofas and ha'Manachati are places in Har ha'Netofasi ? "Ba'anah ha'Netofasi", "va'Yaglum El Manachas."

2.

Radak: Also Atros is the name of a family or city 1 , like "Ataros v'Divon." The entire city was from his sons. Also Chatzi ha'Manachati ha'Tzar'i are families from Bnei Salma.

3.

Malbim: in half the city of Manachas, dwelled Bnei Tzar'ah. The other half was from Bnei Shoval (52). "Bnei" at the start of this verse applies to all five names in the verse. Perhaps it is called Manachas based on Nachah and Chanah (resting and camping). The half of Manachas towards Eshta'ol, they came from Re'ayah ben Shoval - "u'Mishpechos Kiryas Ye'arim? Yatz'u ha'Tzar'asi veha'Eshta'uli" (53). The half of Manachas towards Tzar'ah were from Bnei Salma. It says ha'Tzar'i, for even though the lineage of "Mishpechos Tzar'ah is from Re'ayah ben Shoval (4:2), those in Machaneh Dan on the side of Tzar'ah were Bnei Salma.

1

Malbim: There were other cities called Atros, therefore they had other names to distinguish them - Atros Adar, Atros Beis Yo'av.
