What is the meaning of "Makos"?

1.

'Rashi' #1: It is in abundance.

2.

'Rashi' #2: Some say that they are crushed, to remove the wheat from the ears.

3.

Radak: This is like Makoles mentioned in Melachim I, 5:25 (Rashi there - an expression of food. Radak there ? the Aleph (in Ma'achalos) is 'swallowed' in the Dagesh in the Kaf.)

4.

Radak citing his father: It is from the root Nakos. The Targum of va'Ynashchu (Bamidbar 21:6) is u'Nechisu. It refers to food for those who will cut the wood.

5.

Malbim: The wheat is crushed with a pestle to make flour.

2)

What are "Batim"?

1.

'Rashi': Bas is a measure for liquids 1 . Kor is a dry measure.

1

Metzudas Tziyon: A Bas is three Sa'im. A Kor is 30 Sa'im. (PF)

3)

In Melachim I, 5:25 it says that Shlomo give 20,000 Korim of wheat and 20 Kor of oil every year. Here it says 20,000 Batim of oil, and also barley and wine!

1.

Radak: In Melachim it discusses food for Chiram's house that Shlomo gave each year. Here it discusses what Shlomo fed Chiram's servants who worked for Shlomo. Malbim ? Ezra did not need to teach what is explicit in Melachim!
