Where is Afekah?

Radak: This is Afekah in Yehudah (Yehoshua 15:53). It is not the Afekah in Asher (ibid., 19:30), which was under Achav's jurisdiction 1 . There was a big plain in front of the city. They called to Yisrael to come to fight them, and they came.

Ralbag: Aram had taken Afekah from Yisrael; Ben Hadad and his soldiers fled to there (verse 30).

Radak (30), Abarvenel: Melech Yehudah was b'Shalom with Melech Aram, therefore they camped there. (This helps explain why the Navi does not record any dialogue between Melech Yehudah and Ben Hadad. - PF)
