Why is "Avon" written full, with two Vov's?
'Rashi': Remove the entire sin 1 .
'Rashi': In three other places it is written full. (a) "B'Avon Cholalti" (Tehilim 51:7) ? even the greatest Chasid has some sin (intent for his own pleasure in the marital act ? Vayikra Rabah 14:4). (b) "Avonosav Yilchedunu Es ha'Rasha" (Mishlei 8:22) - his many sins. (c) "U'Matzanu Avon" (Melachim II, 7:9) ? if we will not tell [the city that Aram fled], it will be a great sin. Enemies will come upon them!
Why did David mention "Chet" and "Avon"?
Malbim (Shmuel II, 24:10): Chet refers to the action. Avon refers to errant intellect. Both applied here. "Chatasi Me'od Asher Asisi", and the Avon was "I was very foolish."
