How did Avraham acquire the Me'aras ha'Machpelah?

Rashbam: We learn Kinyan Kesef from 'v'Nasan ha'Kesef v'Kam Lo.' (The Gemara cites this in 10 places, but it is not a Pasuk, It is based on "'v'Yasaf Chamishis Kesef... v'Kam Lo" (Vayikra 27:19). The Gemara often abbreviates and alters verses - Tosfos Shabbos 128a). Refer to 23:13:1:1.

What arw the conotations of ?be?Chol Ba?ei Sha?ar Iyro??

Rashi: It means that he sold it to him in the midst of all the people of the town, whilst they were all there (so that the B?nei Cheis could not deny [and say that they were unaware of the sale - Ha?amek Davar).

Why does it say, "l'Einei Bnei Ches"?

Malbim (to 23:17): All were there, and no one protested, e.g. to say that he is a neighbor and has first rights to buy.

2.

Ha'amek Davar: They should not be able to say that it is a disgrace to sell an inheritance, and it is invalid. It was [in front of] "b'Chol Ba'ei Sha'ar Iro," so Bnei Ches could not deny [and say that they were unaware of the sale].

QUESTIONS ON RASHI

Rashi writes: "'Among all those who would enter the gates' (b'Chol Ba'ei Sha'ar) - Among them all, and in their presence." Why does Rashi use these two phrases?

Gur Aryeh: The prefix letter 'Bet' of "b'Chol" indicates that Avraham was in their midst, or among them. Although the position in which he stood is irrelevant, what this means practically is that the sale was in their presence, and witnessed by all.
