The Meforshim say that "Ki Im" means only. How does our verse connect to the next one "va'Yoresh Hashem"?

Malbim: "Im" is a Tenai. If you will cling to Hashem, like you did until now, and you saw the result - Hashem dispossessed mighty nations - also in the future, one of you will pursue 1000, for Hashem will fight for you.
