What is the first "Gam" coming to include?
Rashi: It comes to include Eliezer's men ? that Rivkah should offer to draw water for them as well.
What are the connotations of "Asher Hochi'ach?
Refer to 24:14:2:1-3 and note.
In his Tefilah, Eliezer asked that she would say "Ashkeh," and really, she said "Esh'av" (24: 14 & 19). Why did he reverse the order when telling her family?
Ha'amek Davar: He said that she did more than he Davened for. 1 (Ashkeh means [drawing the water, and] also putting it in front of them.)
He was not concerned lest they say that this is unlike his prayer (refer to 24:43:151:1). (PF)
QUESTIONS ON RASHI
Rashi writes: "'Also you [drink]' - The word 'also' comes to include the [other] men who were with him." Where do we find any hint to the fact that Rivkah gave water to Eliezer's men as well?
Gur Aryeh #1: If Rivkah said that she would water even the camels, it is obvious that the men were also included, as they ought to be given first.
Gur Aryeh #2: If she gave water to the camels, which entails great effort, she certainly gave to the men with ease.
Rashi writes: "'Also you' - The word 'also' comes to include the men who were with him." If this goes without saying, why does Eliezer allude to it?
Gur Aryeh: Eliezer wanted to show that he had a three-fold sign [a Siman Muvhak - that Rivkah was the Divinely chosen wife for Yitzchak]; she would give water a) to him, b) to his men, c) to the camels. 1
Gur Aryeh: Eliezer hints to this here, because when talking to others, one may not leave matters under assumption, but must explain them.
