Did he not leave his land at all?

1.

Rashi: He did not leave to help Yehoyakim [whom he made king].

2.

Radak: He did not leave until Tzidkiyah became king. Then he went - "va'Yimlach Melech Tzidkiyah; v'Cheil Pharaoh Yatza mi'Mitzrayim va'Yishme'u ha'Kasdim ha'Tzarim Al Yerushalayim Es Shim'am va'Ye'alu me'Al Yerushalayim" (Yirmeyah 37:1, 5). Similarly, "troops of Aram ceased to enter Yisrael" (above, 6:23), i.e. they did not go again at this time. They went later, like it says (in the next verse, that Melech Aram gathered his camp and besieged Shomron)!

3.

Malbim: He wanted to leave to make Yehoyachin king, just like he made his father Yehoyakim king. He was not able to leave until the days of Tzidkiyah, like it says in Yirmeyah (37:1,5).

2)

Why does it say "Ki Lakach

1.

Rashi: This is why Melech Mitzrayim could not leave - because Melech Bavel defeated him in war in Yehoyakim's fourth year, like it says in Yirmeyah (46:2).
