Rashi: During the day they were closed in, and at night they went to their tunnels. They did not fear Mazikin at all!

Ibn Ezra (14): This will be their 'reward' - Hashem will make morning for them like Tzalmaves (great darkness).

Malbim: They viewed morning like Tzalmaves. Then, they hid in their hiding places, like other people hide at a time of Tzalmaves.

What do we learn from "Ki Yakir Balhus Tzalmaves"?

1.

Rashi: Each one recognized terrifying demons, and did not fear them.

Malbim: In the morning, their thefts at night will be recognized. This is why they hide during the day!
