How does one use Tachbulos to wage war?

1.

Sanhedrin 42a: One who succeeds in the war of Torah is one who knows Chavilos (bundles) of Mishnayos and Beraisos.

2.

R. Yonah: War requires people who understand strategies - ways in which the enemy can overpower. Also they are wise in this! A Navon thinks about the strategies - "v'Navon Tachbulos Yikneh" (1:5).

3.

R. Yonah (according to Mashal): It is to be saved from the Yetzer via overpowering.

4.

Malbim: I mentioned above (12:14) that one counsel is not enough for war, for also the enemy has counsel. One needs a bundle of counsels, one after the other. For every counsel of the enemy, he needs a counsel against it. Therefore, many advisors are needed - each gives a different counsel. This is a Mashal for the Nefesh's war against its enemies. It does not win via Chachmah alone, which is one special advisor, for also the enemy has counsels against the counsel of Chachmah. One must gather all counselors of the Nefesh - Chachmah, Binah and Da'as. Da'as can attain clear knowledge to arrange strategies and bundles of counsels against the counsels of desire and the Yetzer - then Ye'ametz Ko'ach.

What do we learn from "u'Seshu'ah b'Rov Yo'etz"?

1.

R. Yonah: Teshu'ah (salvation) applies to an affliction or fall. With many counselors, one always finds a way to be saved from the afflictions and hardships that arise, that an Ish Machshavah did not guard from them. This is why it says "v'Ish Da'as Me'ametz Ko'ach" (6), for after hardship and stumbling, he finds a salvation. Our verse explains the previous verse. "V'Ish Da'as Me'ametz Ko'ach" of those who stumbled. Chachmah of Nevonim gives strategies for war. Salvation from afflict and problems is via great counsel. Ish Da'as is in place of Rov Yo'etz, for he encompasses Da'as. Therefore he invigorates at a time of affliction and failure. Teshu'ah and Me'ametz Ko'ach are the same. Regarding Gevurah, it mentioned the attributes of Chacham, Ish Da'as and Navon, who acquires strategies, just like it mentioned these regarding wealth.

2.

R. Yonah (according to Mashal): It saves from sin, via finding a way of complete Teshuvah, to be pleasing to Hashem.

3.

Mesilas Yesharim (Perek 23): One should seek pure friends who will enlighten his eyes in what he is blind. They will rebuke him amidst love. They save him from all evil, for what man cannot see, because he does not see his own liability, they will see, understand, warn him, and he will be guarded.
