Here it says that Yo'ash wanted to be Mechadesh the Bayis. In Melachim II, 12:6, it says that he wanted to strengthen Bedek ha'Bayis!

Malbim: These were two different projects. Each Sefer discusses one of them. He enacted that the Kohanim strengthen Bedek ha'Bayis from the Nedarim and Nedavos that they received; they did not. He also wanted to renew the Bayis and make it as beautiful as initially. Nedarim and Nedavos would not suffice for this; a special collection was needed.
