What are "[Nezem Zahav] v'Chali Chesem"?

1.

Rashi: They are ornaments of collections of gold, like "va'Ta'ad Nizmah v'Chelyasah" (Hoshe'a 2:15), "Kemo Chala'im" (Shir ha'Shirim 7:2).

2.

Malbim: Both of these are ear ornaments. Just like they decorate the outer ear, so a Chacham rebukes. He rebukes based on words of Chachmah; he adorns the ear that hears rebuke. It is adorned if the rebuke is from a Ba'al Chachmah - this is like gold and [esteemed] gold of Ofir.

What is the connection of these ornaments to a Chacham's rebuke?
