"Kol Y'mei Hashamah Tshbos ? ". What is this Pasuk coming to teach us?

1.

Rashi: It teaches us that the land will rest the number of years corresponding to the seventy Sh'mitos and Yovlos 1 that they broke.

1

Rashi: During the period of four hundred and thirty-six years that they sinned - three hundred and ninety until the exile of the ten tribes, and forty that Yehudah continued to sin, until the prophesy of Yechezkel - which took place six years before the Churban. See Rashi here and refer to Yechezkel 4:6:2:1 and the notes there.

2)

What is the significance of the ten refernces to Sh'mitah in Pesukim 34 & 35 (See R. Chavel's footnotes)?

1.

R. Bachye: It hints at the ten Sh'mitos that the land rested during the seventy years of Galus Bavel - to make up for the Sh'mitos that Yisrael negated. 1

Why does the hint not incorporate the Yovlos? Refer also to 26:35:1:1*.
