Why does the Torah need to mention that Yocheved was Amram's wife?

1.

Oznayim la'Torah: Because even thoufh Amram was one of the Gedolei ha'Dor, 1 he would not have merited to father Moshe and Aharon if not for his wife Yocheved (Shifrah), who was Moser Nefesh to save the babies in Egypt, and about whom the Torah writes in Sh'mos 1:21 "va'Ya'as lahem Batim". 2
