1)

Seeing as the Pasuk is discussing a field, why does the Torah write "Yakdish Sadeihu" and not 'Yakdishenah'?

1.

Sifra: To teach us that if there are deep pits or tall rocks in the field, they are assessed independently (according to their market value). 1

1

See Torah Temimah, note 87.

2)

What are the implications of "ke'Erk'cha Yakum"?

1.

Erchin, 18a: It implies that, as opposed to Damim ('D'mei Cheifetz Zeh alai'), 1 where the article is assessed according to its value at the time of payment, 2 Arachim - incorporating all the current cases - are assessed according to their value at the time of the declaration. 3

1

See Torah Temimah, note 90.

2

Erchin, Ibid.: Even though Damim is compared to Erchin regarding 'Margalis la'Kalim' and 'Ladun bi'Chevodo' - See Torah Temimah, notes 88 & 89, respectively.

3

See Torah Temimah, note 91.

3)

What will be the Din if someone is Makdish his field during the Yovel year?

1.

Erchin, 24b: The Hekdesh is not valid - because "ve'Im mi'Shenas ha'Yovel" implies the year after the Yovel. 1

1

And that is when the full assessment applies. Consequently, "ve'Im Achar ha'Yovel - in Pasuk 18 - must be interpreted as 'Achar Achar' (the year following the year after the Yovel). See Torah Temimah in Pasuk 18, citing Erchin, 24b and note 94.

4)

How much must the owner actually pay when redeeming his field?

1.

Sifra: Forty-nine Sela'im and forty-nine Pundiyonim 1 (one Pundiyon extra) 2 for the forty-nine years. 3

1

See Torah Temimah, note 92, who elaborates.

2

Erchin, 25a: To pay the banker for changing the money. See Torah Temimah, Ibid.

3

Since there are forty-eight Pundiyonim in a Sela.
