1)

Why does the Torah refer to the idols as "'Shikutzim' and 'Gilulim'?

1.

Rashi: Because they are abominable like vermin and disgusting like feces.

2.

Rosh: Because their worshippers cast them into excrement and mud after three years, when they are smudged, or when they request from them and do not get what they ask, they revile them. 1

1

As the Navi writes in Yeshayah 8:21 "Ki Yir'av Vehiskatzef Vekilel beMalko u'Veilohav".

2)

Why does the Torah add the words "asher Imahem" after "Kesef ve'Zahav"?

1.

Rashi: Because the idols that are made of silver and gold they keep with them in their inner chambers, for fear that someone will steal them. 1

1

Rashi: As opposed to the idols made of wood and stone, which they leave in the open, because they are not worth stealing. Rosh

3)

If their silver and golden idols were kept hidden in their inner chambers, how could Yisrael have seen them?

1.

Oznayim la'Torah: This refers to episode of Ba'al Pe'or, where the women of produccd their gods from inside their bosoms and enticed them to worship them. 1

1

And they were not afraid that they would steal them. See Oznayim la'Torah.

4)

What is the significance of the fact that the Torah writes here "Kesef ve'Zahav asher Imahem", and in Eikev, 7:25: Lo Sachmod Kesef ve'Zahav aleihem"?

1.

Avodah Zarah, 51b: Just like the Pasuk in Eikev - which is confined to Avodah Zarah of silver and gold, is referring to silver and gold that adorns the Avodah Zarah, 1 so too, is the current Pasuk, which incorporates wood and silver, referring to wood and silver that adorns the Avodah Zarah - but not if it serves any other purpose.
