What is "Galmud"?
Rashi: It is alone, isolated from people and all creations. Malbim - since the Ma'arachah compels that a child conceived that night will not succeed 1 , they will curse Zivugim of that night, lest they lead to children who will not conceive. Man and woman should not join that night in intimacy.
Ibn Ezra: It is desolate, like "Galmudah" (Yeshayah 49:21). Devar Eliyahu (8) - the roads will be desolate, for there will be no light, even from the stars.
Surely Iyov never heard of suffering like his. Did he think that only he was conceived that night?! Perhaps he thought that also his birth was at a time of bad Mazal, and the combination of the two caused his extreme suffering. (PF)
