Malbim: It was in the middle of the eastern side. It was opposite Beis Hashem, for the two Todos began in Sha'ar ha'Gai in the middle of the west, and met in Sha'ar ha'Tzon and went to Beis Hashem. From Sha'ar ha'Tzon they built to the north, and from there to the west, and from the west they returned to the east on the south, until they returned to Sha'ar ha'Tzon (Perek 12).
What Kedushah did they give to it?
Rashi: It received Kedushas ha'Ir.
