Radak #1: The verse does not say from where. It seems that it was from Eretz Pelishtim.

Radak #2: Perhaps a troop of Pelishtim came to Eretz Yisrael to fight or plunder, and Yo'av and Avdei David went out to fight them, and returned with much spoils.
