What is the meaning of "Lehasir Adam Ma'aseh"?
Rashi: Via illness, Hashem blocks a person from doing what he intended to do.
Malbim: The dream arouses him to cease a certain bad deed.
What does Hashem cover?
Rashi: Gevah is like Ga'avah (pride). Hashem covers him with afflictions to humble and lower him, so he will repent, and be spared from total death.
Ibn Ezra: Sight. Pride is primarily what one sees.
Malbim: Images of bad Midos and nature planted deep in man's Nefesh, if they will revealed and cross his heart, he will be aroused to act based on them. If will arise me'Gevah, e.g. pride, anger, vengeance and cruelty, and he is drawn after them, a dream will arouse him to cease, and sink them in the depths of the Nefesh, and they will be covered from him. They will not rise on his heart; they will remain covered.
