Seeing as, in 34:14, they were talking predominantly with Shechem, why does the Pasuk here give precedence to Chamor?

Oznayim la'Torah: It seems that, in deference to his father, he waited for him to approve of their plan before stating his own approval.

Since the plan incorporated the townspeople and Chamor was the king, his approval was of greater importance that that of Shechem. Indeed, from now on, when the Pasuk discusses the presentation of the plan to the people, the Pasuk mentions Chamor first. (EC)
