Who are "Chanfei Lev"?
Rashi: Resha'im.
Malbim: They are not total Tzadikim. Their heart is unlike their outside - it is full of flattery and forgery. At a time or wealth, they served only amidst hope of reward, for they had all good.
What do we learn from "Yasimu Af"?
Sotah 41b: From the day that flattery became rampant, judgments became distorted, deeds became spoiled, and no one can say 'my deeds are greater than yours.' A flatterer brings Af (anger) to the world. Ibn Ezra - this is like "Yasim 1 ".
Rashi: When afflictions come, they blaspheme.
Malbim: [When afflictions come,] they complain about His Midos and conduct, like Iyov did.
Perhaps he refers to "Ad Yasim ba'Aretz Mishpat" (Yeshayah 42:4). (PF)
Why does it say "Lo Yeshav'u Ki Asaram"?
Rashi: They do not supplicate to Hashem when He afflicts them. Therefore, He does not heal them!
Orchos Tzadikim Sha'ar ha'Chanifus DH Amar: A flatterer's Tefilah is not heard.
Malbim: They do not supplicate to Hashem to relieve their poverty. Just the contrary, they get angry at Him!
