"ve'Es ha'Elef u'Sheva Me'os ? Asah Vavim la'Amudim". Why does the Torah add the 'Hey' in "ha'Elef "?

1.

R. Bachye #1: Because it already alluded to it in Pasuk 26 - " ? Sh'losh Me'os ve'Chamishim".

2.

R. Bachye #2 (citing the Tanchuma): When Moshe gave account for what he had done with all the silver, he could not remember he did with the 1775 Shekalim ? until a Heavenly Voice announced "ve'es ha'Elef u'Sheva Me'os ? Asah Vavim la'Amudim". 1

3.

R. Bachye #3: With reference to 38:28:1 - In order to connect the 'Vav' with the 'Hey' (since the opening letters can be read 'Vav' es 'Hey'). 2

R. Bachye ibid.: 'In fulfillment of the Pasuk in Bamidbar 12:7 "Lo Chein Avdi Moshe; be'Chol Beisi Ne'eman Hu!"

What did they overlay with silver?

1.

Rashi: They overlaid the copper pillars (not the hooks) with silver. 1

See Sifsei Chachamim.

3)

What is the significance of the fact that the donation of silver was divided into two ? part for the sockets and part or the hooks?

1.

R. Bachye: Because when Yisrael sinned by the Eigel, they contravened the 'Hey'and the 'Vav' of the Name 'Havayah' 1 ('Eish' and 'Kol' respectively. Consequently, the hundred Kikar, which was used for the sockets (the foundation of the Mishkan came to atone for the 'Hey', and the 1775 Shekalim, which were used for the hooks (the 'Vavim'), for the 'Vav'. 2
