Why does it say "b'Rochav Geder he'Chatzer Derech ha'Kadim"?

1.

Rashi: This discusses one who comes from the east of Chatzer ha'Chitzonah and turns to the north via the northeast corner of the walls of [Chatzer] ha'Penimi from the outside, to come to the chambers in the north. He finds, facing Geder he'Chatzer, the east wall of Chatzer ha'Penimi, which is west of the outer (Chatzer), opposite the Gizrah and Binyan in the inner [Chatzer].

2.

Radak: Also in the east, in the space between the wall of the Chatzer and Gizrah, he saw chambers like he saw in the north.

3.

Vilna Gaon: The Geder of the Chatzer was straight, from east to west.

4.

Malbim: Even though [there was a path mentioned above ? refer to 42:9:1:3], he could go from east to west only along the width of Geder he'Chatzer. The path of 10 Amos and Lishkos ha'Chamishim in front of the wall of Ezras Yisrael were withdrawn 13 Amos more than the path and Lishkos ha'Chamishim [in the north] in front of the Ulam and Heichal 1 . Therefore when he went on the path between the Geder and Lishkos ha'Chamishim from east to west, and reached the end of Lishkos ha'Chamishim, he encountered Lishkos ha'Me'ah, which sealed the path on its west. Lishkos ha'Chamishim sealed it in the north, and the Geder sealed it in the south. Therefore, they needed to make an opening in the Geder, so one could pass to the 10 Amos between Lishkos ha'Me'ah and Lishkos ha'Esrim. He needed to go to the south, to the opening at the end of the 50 Amos where the Geder finished, and there was the opening.

1

Malbim: I mentioned (1) that the gap between Kir Chatzer ha'Chitzonah and Kir Chatzer ha'Penimi was 113 Amos. It was 13 Amos past the interior of Chatzer ha'Chitzonah opposite Ezras Yisrael, for Kir Ezras Yisrael stuck out 13 Amos into Chatzer ha'Chitzonah more than Kir Chatzer ha'Penimi. If so, the 20 Amos in front of the wall of Chatzer ha'Penimi that received Kedushas Ezras Yisrael, were withdrawn 13 Amos into Chatzer ha'Chitzonah more than the 20 Kadosh Amos in front of Kir Chatzer ha'Penimi in front of the Ulam and Heichal. The same applies to the path of 10 Amos and Lishkos ha'Chamishim in front of these walls.

2)

Why does it say "El Pnei ha'Gizrah v'El Pnei ha'Binyan Leshachos"?

1.

Vilna Gaon: The chambers that were opposite the Gizrah and Binyan in the west, were opposite the chambers in the east.
