Why was this Mizmor composed?
Rashi: Refer to 45:1:2:1.
Radak: It refers to Melech ha'Mashi'ach.
Malbim: Bnei Korach composed it for the honor of the king and queen on the day of his wedding and Simchah of his heart, with the daughter of Melech Tzor, who converted. Perhaps it was in the days of Shlomo, who married Bas Melech Tzor and converted her.
Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal 1 ): Hidden under the external garment, it discusses how to isolate oneself with Hashem.
In some editions, this appears after Malbim's Perush on verse 18].
Why does it say "Al ha'Shoshanim"?
Rashi: It is for Chachamim, who are soft like Shoshanim (roses), pleasant like roses and moisten like roses.
Radak: It is a musical instrument.
Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): A rose has external beauty, and also his smell and pleasure. Also this Mizmor has great Chachmah under the external metaphor.
What is the meaning of "Maskil"?
Rashi: It is via a translator.
Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): One who is wise [will recognize the hidden Chachmah of this Mizmor].
What is "Shir Yedidus"?
Rashi: It is a song of lovers, to praise them and make people love them and their Torah.
Radak: It is love of Hashem for His Mashi'ach.
Malbim: It refers to the wedding [and dearness] of the king with Bas Melech Tzor.
Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): This is a metaphor for intellect overpowering with Ru'ach Hashem over the body. Nevi'im and Chachamim compare the intellect to a husband; the Nefesh (his wife) is prepared to conduct according to the intellect. The Bas Melech Zaken (lusts) will be submissive to him; he betroths her with Emunah to conduct her according to his counsel and Chachmah.
