Metzudas David: "Gam" refers to the end of the verse, "Matas Elokim." The ability to eat from his wealth is a gift, just like the wealth itself.

What does "Nechasim" include?

Metzudas Tziyon: Gold and silver, Kelim, flocks? This is like "bi'Nchasim Rabim Shuvu" (Yehoshua 22:8).

What is "v'Hishlito Le'echol Mimenu"?

1.

Rashi: He eats in his lifetime.

2.

Ibn Ezra (19): He eats Mimenu (from it), but not too much.

Rashbam: He has the ability to rule over his wealth, and eat from his portion and rejoice in it and in his toil.

Metzudas David: He ruled over his heart to tilt it to benefit from the wealth. Metzudas Tziyon - Hishlito is authority and ability.

What is "v'Laseis Es Chelko"?

Rav Sadya Gaon: It is to benefit from his portion in the best way.

Rashi: This is in his death. Hashem merited him to engage in Torah and Mitzvos (Metzudas David - Tzedakah and Chesed) in his lifetime, in order to receive reward.

Ibn Ezra: It is the portion that he takes 1 with him 2 .

One who engages in gathering money does not take anything with him [after death]. Here we discuss one who used his wealth for Mitzvos, and he will take this merit with him. (PF)

How does he rejoice in his toil?

Metzudas David: It is not harsh for him to give from the wealth that he gathered with toil.

Why is it called "Matas Elokim"?

1.

Rashbam: This is an esteemed gift that he received from Shamayim.

2.

Seforno: This is rare, that one who attains wealth via efforts, he himself eats from it.
