What are "Chamasi u'She'eri... v'Dami"?
Rashi: Chamasi u'She'eri is the scream about my extortion and my food; they ate my food.
Radak: Chamasi is the money that they plundered. She'eri is my flesh, i.e. the people killed. "V'Dami" is a repetition using a different word.
Radak citing his father: She'eri refers to the exiles. They afflicted their bodies. "Dami" refers to those killed.
Radak based on Targum Yonasan: Chamasi u'She'eri grabbed and plundered from me. Dami is liability for my innocent blood that he spilled.
Malbim: Bavel consumed Tziyon's She'er and Basar 1 , i.e. the kingship and the Beis ha'Mikdash. The Kasdim spilled the blood of [Anshei Yerushalayim].
Malbim explains as if 'Basar' was written in the verse. This requires investigation. (PF)
The only other verse that says Chamasi is "Chamasi Alecha" (Bereishis 16:5). What is the significance of this?
Ba'al ha'Turim: Just like Sarah was Akarah (barren - Bereishis 11:30), Tziyon was Akarah (Yeshayah 54:1). Just like Sarah entered a Tzarah (rival, co-wife) into her house, the nations are Tzaros 1 to Yisrael.
Why did he not say that also Yisrael 'entered' a Tzarah - Chizkiyah invited Bavel's Sheluchim to see his treasure-houses, and for this it was decreed that Bavel will take all of them, and his descendants will be taken to serve in Melech Bavel's palace (Yeshayah 39:2, 6-7)! Or, it refers to Menasheh entering a Pesel ("v'Avar ba'Yam Tzarah" (Zecharyah 10:11) is an idol) in the Heichal (Sanhedrin 103b)! Perhaps it is better not to expound hints to sins of Yisrael, even if the comparison is weaker. (PF)
What is the meaning of "El Yoshevei Kasdim"?
Radak, Targum Yonasan: This is like Al Yoshevei Eretz Kasdim.
Why does it mention Tziyon and Yerushalayim?
Malbim: Tziyon, the capitol, screams about Bavel, the capitol. The people of Yerushalayim scream about the Kasdim, and request justice.
