What is "Mechulal"?
Radak: It is a verb with a four-letter root. It is like "Chil ka'Yoledah" (Yirmeyah 6:24; trembling).
Malbim: This is the inner illness. When Nochrim did not crush Yisrael to make Yisrael accept their creed, but they withheld from them all good, until they became ill, this was Pesha (rebellion) and an evil heart. It was for the sake of [their] Emunah!
What is "Meduka"?
Radak: This is [broken and crushed,] like "Dika la'Aretz Chayasi" (Tehilim 143:3)
Malbim: These are external pains. When Nochrim crushed Yisrael with pains and afflictions to make them accept their creed, this was Avon (error in intellect). They thought that this is a Mitzvah, and it will bring them to happiness of the Nefesh!
What is the meaning of "Muar Shelomenu Alav"?
Rashi: The afflictions of (to enable) the Shalom that we had, came on him. He was afflicted so there will be Shalom in the world.
Radak #1: Shelomenu is totally, like "Haglas Shelomim" (Yirmeyah 13:19) - a total Galus. The afflictions that should have come upon us, came upon him.
Radak #2: Shelomenu is like Shalom. When we had Shalom, the affliction should have come upon us - it came on them.
Malbim: When Nochrim had Shalom, they afflicted Yisrael, thinking that this will be a merit for their Shalom to continue. When evil befell them, they did not put to heart that it is a punishment for doing evil to these innocent people. Just the contrary, they said that it is because they did not do more evil to them!
What is "uva'Chavuraso"?
Radak: This is like Chavurah Tachas Chavurah (Shemos 21:25). Chavuraso and Nega (8) are metaphors for the pain of Galus.
Why does it say "Nirpa Lanu"?
Radak: This is like "Ani Hashem Rof'echa" (Shemos 15:26).
Malbim: They thought that if they will wound Yisrael, they will be healed (refer to 53:5:3:4.
