Why does it say that Hashem did not command about Olah and Zevach? Yetzi'as Mitzrayim was on condition to accept the Torah, which commands to bring Korbanos!

1.

Rashi: The initial condition was only "Im Shamo'a Tishme'u b'Koli u'Shmartem Es Brisi vi'Hyisem Li Segulah" (Shemos 19:5).

2.

Radak #1: It was not the first Mitzvah after leaving Egypt, which was at Marah - "Sham Sam Lo Chok u'Mishpat" (Shemos 15:25), i.e. Shabbos and monetary laws 1 . He did not command about Korbanos then.

3.

Radak #2: The primary condition [for Yetzi'as Mitzrayim] was to listen to My voice, and to be My nation; the Torah was given on this condition. Aseres ha'Dibros are the Klal of the entire Torah, and they do not mention Korbanos.

4.

Radak #3: Even when the Torah discusses Korbanos, it does not command to offer. Rather, if one chooses to bring a Korban, it must be like this. The Temidim are for the honor of the Bayis 2 ; the Tzibur offers them. Individuals are not commanded, the way they are commanded to do Mishpat and other Mitzvos. An individual must bring Korbanos only if he sinned b'Shogeg 3 . The Torah commands to burn the Eimurim (Chelev and blood), to make him put to his heart to overcome his animal lusts, which result from Chelev and blood. He will be careful not to be Shogeg about Mitzvos, and all the more so Mezid. Or, perhaps the Temidim, and the Beis ha'Mikdash for Avodah are like the Ramban says (Moreh ha'Nevuchim 3:32), to copy foreign mindsets and Heichalos which were for idolatry, to make them for Hashem's service, and the name of idolatry will be erased from them.

5.

Malbim: The Korbanos are not ends unto themselves. Rather, they are (a) "Lishmo'a v'Koli" - to heed Hashem's voice - "l'Re'ach Nicho'ach" (Bamidbar 28:6) - a pleasant spirit to Me, that I said and My desire was done (Sifri Zuta ibid.) (b) "v'Hayisi Lachem lEi'lokim" - they are a sign between us, that you are My nation and I am your G-d. I receive from you Avodah and gifts. (c) "va'Halachtem b'Chol ha'Derech" - to remind you to go in the ways of Hashem. Nedavos and ascending [to the Mikdash] on the Regel are "Lema'an Tilmad Leyir'ah Es Hashem" (Devarim 14:23). Obligations such as Chatas and Asham are to remember one's sin, and not return to his folly. I did not command Korbanos for My benefit, rather, for yours - "Lema'an Yitav Lachem."

Sanhedrin 56b says so, but adds also Kivud Av v'Em. (PF)

2

Surely, this includes the Mishkan, Shilo? The Tamid was an obligation "me'Har Sinai" (Bamidbar 25:6), 480 years before they built the Beis ha'Mikdash! (PF)

3

This is difficult. Every adult male must bring at least one Olah and one Shelamim every festival, and he must be a partner in a Korban Pesach so he can eat from it! (PF)
