What will be the consequence of "Yerachamenu"?
Malbim: He will pardon amidst mercy.
It says "Yashuv Yerachamenu" (third person) and "v'Sashlich" (second person)!
Radak: Verses often switch between these. It says also Avonoseinu (first person) and Chatosam (third person)!
What is the significance of "Yichbosh"?
Radak: This is like one who covers something with his legs, lest it be seen. This is why "He will cast to the depth of the sea."
Malbim: He will not bear the sin, like one who carries a burden. Rather, He suppresses it, so no punishment will come from it in the future.
What is "Metzulos"?
Radak: The depth of the sea.
Why will Chatosam be cast to the depth of the sea?
Malbim: Chet is via Shogeg, or due to desire. It is not due to rebellion or heresy. It will not be found at all.
