Why does the Torah need to state the total number of bulls, rams, lambs of the Olah, Chatas goats and the Minchah that the Nesi'im donated?
R. Bachye: Because the twelve bulls, rams, lambs and goats corresponded to the twelve celestial tribes. 1 2
Targum Yonasan: Because the twelve bulls correspond to the twelve princes, the twelve rams, to the twelve princes of Yishmael who will be destroyed, the twelve lambs to the twelve princes of Persia that will be destroyed, the twelve goats came to atone for the sins of the twelve tribes and their Menachos symbolized famine that will come to an end. 3
R. Bachye does not mention the MInchah.
See R. Bachye who compares various aspects of the Mishkan to aspects of the Machaneh Shechinah at Har Sinai, and te twelve sets of Korbanoss that the Nesi'im brought to the twelve Matzevos that Moshe set-up at Har Sinai corresponding to the twelve tribes.
See Na'ar Yonasan.
