Rashi: His Mazal is moist and strong before the time when the sun's heat will dry it. He uses expressions similar to his Mashal of the reed.

Devar Eliyahu (17): The verses compare his success to four matters of a tree. "Ratov Hu Lifnei Shamesh" refers to his body. He nurtures well, like a tree planted on water.

Malbim: Vegetation that does not need much water and moisture, it is moist and fresh even in front of the sun.

What is "Yonakto"?

Rashi #1: It is a root that is Yonek (takes water and nutrients from the ground).

Ibn Ezra: This repeats the Reisha.

Devar Eliyahu (17) #1: This refers to his children - they multiply greatly.

Devar Eliyahu (17) #2: This is his wife (see Bamidbar Rabah 18).

Malbim: It does not need a marsh or moist place to grow. It can grow in any garden.
