R. Bachye #1 (according to Kabalah): They represent the seven Midos 1 - Refer to 8:7:1:2.

R. Bachye #2 (in Pasuk 36): Because they encompassed 'the entire Building' - See answer #1. Therefore Moshe served all seven days and dressed Aharon the seven garments - Refer to 8:7:4:3 - in order to bring down the Shechinah which comprises seven, and on the following - the eight - day, on the first of Nisan, the Shechinah rested.
